Description
Jolting Apparatus – For Compacting Cement Mortar Specimens in Moulds
The Jolting Apparatus is a precision laboratory instrument used to compact cement mortar specimens in moulds for strength testing. It ensures uniform compaction and density of mortar cubes or prisms, providing reliable results for compressive and flexural strength tests of cement as per international standards.
This apparatus consists of a rigid cast iron base, a mould holder mounted on a cam-driven table, and a counter mechanism that controls the number of jolts applied. The table is raised and dropped automatically through a fixed height, ensuring consistent compaction of the mortar. The machine is designed to meet the requirements of IS: 4031 (Part 6), EN 196-1, and ASTM C349 standards.
Key Features:
Heavy-duty cast iron body for stability and long service life
Automatic counter for pre-set number of jolts (up to 60 jolts in 60 seconds)
Smooth cam-operated lifting and dropping mechanism
Supplied with standard mortar mould (40 x 40 x 160 mm) and hopper
Ensures uniform compaction and repeatable test results
Conforms to IS: 4031 (Part 6), EN 196-1, and ASTM standards
Applications:
Used to compact cement mortar specimens before strength testing
Ideal for cement and concrete testing laboratories
Suitable for quality control, educational institutions, and research laboratories
